INDIGO
Made up of 4 good friends and seasoned musicians from the Singapore arts scene - Dawn Ho (vocals), Munir Alsagoff (guitar), Kaye (saxophone/EWI/computer), and Mohamed Noor (drums/percussions) with more than 3 decades of performing experience between them. In 2006, they merged their diversified backgrounds in musical genres of performances to form INDIGO - the first musical outfit in Singapore to offer authentic Bossa nova, Brazilian-samba-styled music from the 60s, samba funk of the 70s, and Brazilian electronica.
INDIGO is all about blending the intoxicating and prolific poetry, melodies, and rhythms of Brazilian music together with electronic and jazz influences to bring about a solid groove that exudes an infectious energy that never fails to get people moving.
Collectively, INDIGO has performed internationally from Asia (Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, China), to Australia, America, Italy, and Russia. The band's musical influences range from Brazilian greats; Baden Powel, Marcos Valle, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Sergio Mendes, Gal Costa right up to present stars ; Maria Rita, Ceu, Sabrina Malheiros, Azymuth, plus electronic music producers such as Jeremy Ellis, Atjazz, Jazzanova, and Swell Sessions to name a few.
