PIC ESCAPADES (Part 3 - Laos, Vientian) - Cambodia and Laos trip with my PIC!

Our next destination takes us to Laos. The plan is to fly into Vientiane, stay one night and hit Vang Veng which we were told is party town and super fun. Some nice things we found during our short stop over in Vientiane are like fair trade stores and art galleries such as SAOBAN (owned by a Singaporean lady who has lived in Laos for 30 years!), they sell wonderful shawls and pillow cases and blankets etc hand made woven the villagers. And also the beautiful TSHOP LAI Gallery. Great retro furniture and a store of organic essential oils and soaps and even citronella mosquito repellant! Last but certainly not least is MAKPHET, a nice lil cafe with great food and killer ice blended drinks. My fav is Ice blended coffee topped with coconut ice cream!! Yummz. The best thing about Makphet is that they hire kids from the street and train them to speak english, to work and run the restaurant. Giving them a second chance at life. They also have a shop which sells handicrafts called Noi Noi. Last but not least, the night market comes alive at sundown selling all kinds of trinkets and knick knacks and clothes and hand made goods. Yes we had a very eventful day in Vientiane. Would love to go back and explore more
